HOW WE DO BUSINESS

At Go Well Consulting we do our best to walk the talk. We like to think that we represent an aspirational business model that proves businesses can be profitable while regenerating communities and our environment, and hope we inspire and empower others to do the same. This page outlines some of the key initiatives and policies we have in place to ensure we do business differently with integrity and professionalism. 

One of our values at Go Well is ‘Doing things differently with excellence’. To us, this means acknowledging that business is critical to achieving a sustainable future – but it has to be done differently. The traditional way of doing business is what has got us into our current mess.

Businesses need to drive the transformation to a circular, regenerative and inclusive economy by modelling what that looks like inside their own operations.

Our Impact 2024

We’re proud to share Our Impact 2024—a snapshot of the mahi we’ve done over the past year, from coaching businesses toward a circular economy to rolling up our sleeves for tree planting, pollution clean-ups, and giving back through time, skills, and donations. 

As a purpose-led consultancy, we believe the best impact comes from walking the talk—and our team is committed to doing just that.

Our Impacts

1% Policy

We donate 1% of our annual revenue to two charities whose work we greatly admire. 0.5% is donated to Conservation Volunteers New Zealand, the other 0.5% is donated to

Kids Can.

9-day fortnight

At Go Well we operate a 9-day fortnight, except for one team member who operates a 4-day week. The business is open five days a week, but our team alternates their Friday off. The science relating to mental health, stress, and workload couldn't be clearer. Neither could the science around being connected with our families, friends, and the natural world. We recommend you try it.

Volunteering

Being consultants we always battle with the tenison of educating and supporting business to evolve for the sustainable future and physically doing the mahi (work) we all know that needs to be done to regenerate our local ecosystems. Since 2022 we have taken part in the Conservation Volunteers World Environment Day Corporate Tree Planting Challenge. A competition we have won two years running. Just saying…

B Corp

B-Corp is one of the sustainability frameworks we reference in the work we do to transform our world to thrive, so it was only right that we achieved the certification ourselves. The minimum score to achieve B Corp is 80 points, we scored 102.3.

GHG Report

We have measured and mapped our footprint every year, since FY21. You can read our most recent report here.

Biodiversity Credits

We were one of the first five businesses to purchase Aotearoa’s first Biodiversity Credits to protect and enhance Aotearoa’s native species. The biodiversity credits provide financial backing for conservationists and landowners who are taking steps to make the environment safer for native species, but who currently lack funding to achieve their goals. It also means people from all corners of the motu can get involved in preserving local wildlife and strengthening native forests. Credits are purchased through through CarbonZ.
