As they became increasingly aware of the environmental, social, and economic challenges facing New Zealand and the globe, they realized the need to formulate a strong and robust sustainability strategy to navigate them. We guided Watts & Hughes through the initial, and often confronting, phase of understanding these challenges and the fast changing landscape of technology, legislation, and customers demands before identifying their material impacts as a business and developing a robust and aspirational strategy.
On completion of the strategy Watts & Hughes used our team to deliver presentations to their sites to engage and educate their staff and contractors on the sustainability related aspects of the build, and to support them in mapping their carbon footprint.
We also took Watts and Hughes through the base year mapping of their operational GHG emission which was audited by Toitū via their verification-only programme.
